Cavalli Crowds...Be afraid. Be very afraid.

At last, November 8th is right upon us, and tomorrow morning at 10am the H&M/Roberto Cavalli collaboration will be available to the masses. But if you are expecting to arrive a couple hours early, grab a couple things and go, you are delusional. I plan to wait at least 4 hours, and I'm actually scared. One of the most well known designers since H&M brought us fashion for the masses 4 years ago, Roberto Cavalli's creations cost up to$10,000, but come this Thursday, they will cost $40-$350. 20 pieces for men and 25 for women, plus lingerie and accessories. Oh yeah, and instead of selling this collection in 250 stores world-wide as has been the case in the last 3 years, H&M will only be selling the collection in 200 this stores. :O. WHYYY??? In fact, only 10 Stores in the U.S. will carry the line. 4 in Canada. Will the scene rival the havoc during the Stella McCartney release? H&M better come up with a very good plan to protect its shoppers from each other, because I'm guessing it will be much worse. Oh yeah, and to make matters worse, Mr. Cavalli himself will be in one of the NY stores when it opens. Awesome. :D

Which store in NYC do you think will be the least crowded? I debating between Lex and 18th St. There's no way I'll be @ 34th. What time should I arrive?

imo 18th will be the least crowded because so few people are familiar with it. They will probably have the smallest selection though. 51st/5th will be the worst. then a toss up btwn 34th and lex.

I just called the midtown store, and apaprently they are the only store in Manhattan that's carrying the red carpet collection- does anyone know if the gold flapper dress is part of the red carpet selection? (I asked the guy but he hadn't even seen the pieces and had no idea)...I really don't want to do Midtown either but I want that gold dress so ... we'll have to see.

that would be pretty messed up if they only sold that dress in that one store. what are they doing??!!?!! They advertise all these things and no one can buy them? I don't understand what they are doing. I really don't.

I'd be willing to bet the gold is in more stores, but i certainly wouldn't take any chances if i wanted the dress.

Looking forward to hearing how the NYC launch went. I was in Chicago and it was insanity, people just grabbing piles of stuff. Hope you got what you wanted!
